Two Race Classes: Standard and Competition
Adventure (Standard )Class :
Canoes and Kayaks may be up to 17 feet in length and weight at least 40 lbs. (Boats can have weights attached to meet weight limit if they are secured so as not to be easily removed during the race.)
C-2s and K-2s can only be used by relay teams and must meet same regulations.
There are no paddle restrictions.
Bikes must be Mountain bikes or hybrids.
Competition Class :
Canoes and Kayaks: No restrictions except to meet Coast guard requirements for flotation.
K-2s and C-2s can only be used by relay teams.
There are no paddle restrictions
Bikes can be road racers or triathlon bikes.
Start time: Race begins at 12:00pm at the Galena Boat Landing. All Transitions take place at the Galena Boat Landing Transition area.
Race Course: Racers will line up at Galena Boat Landing (Hwy 20 Bridge) and start in class group heats. Racers paddle 3 miles downstream on the Galena River, round a buoy, then paddle back to start. This is followed by a 17 mile bicycle which starts and ends at the Galena Boat Landing. After transitioning off the bike, racers will run 3.1 miles (out and back) on the flat Galena River Trail. Racers finish at the Galena Boat Landing.

Awards will be given in each Race Category
Standard Class & Competition Class
Categories for each class:
Men’s relay team……… Open & Masters
Corporate relay team…….. Open & Masters
Women’s relay team…….Open & Masters
A Corporate team could have four people if they used a C-2 or K-2, but at least one woman must be in the boat and they must have two women on the team.
Relay teams must have at least 2 people who split the events., but may have up to four persons (K2-C2). Only one pre-assigned paddler, runner and biker’s time will be counted, and not the best times produced by the group.
An Adventure team may always opt to move up to the competitive class but not vice versa.
Each indiviudal/team will be responsible for providing its own equipment. Fever River Outfitters is not responsible for lost or stolen equipment.
